Isometric

Isometric Drawing

Starting with the isometric graph paper, I started trying to create shapes and different objects trying to find something it can portray.

After creating the different shapes, I traced it over into the tracing paper and from the tracing paper, I transferred it into my sketchbook.

I used triangles to create mountains and different experimental lines that turned into clouds. From there, I created a surrounding that I thought would look cool so I placed a sunset in the back and a river that flowed forward. For this assignment, I think my coloring, some shading, and the dimension was strong and worked out for the overall picture but I really struggled with creating shapes from the beggining and putting everything together. I could greatly improve on creating more shapes to create a bigger picture instead of something simple.

Mark Making

Mark Making

During this assignment, it was difficult having to copy another artist's style and their way of drawing. It was interesting doing it though because as I did it, I learned a little bit more about hatching and just having quick pencil sketches to create a bit of texture or dimension. I think my strength was mostly getting the general look of it and a little bit of coloring but I can improve on my lines and how I hold my pencil to create some of the lines and shading.

Pre-Instruction Drawing: Portrait

Portrait

This was my first time ever doing a self portrait. During this process, I mostly just looked at myself in the mirror and observed what I saw then started making lines. I think my strength would be getting the general look of it but I need to improve on the details and making it look more realistic. I also need to improve on not making it the somewhat ideal me and more of what I look like.

Charcoal drawing

To create this charcoal drawing, I first measured out the placement of each object by measuring the distance from the edge of each object...
